Former Blacks Stars goalkeeper, Abubakari Damba, has urged coach of the Black Stars, Avram Grant, to make Razak Brimah his first choice goalkeeper for reasons of consistency.

Grant is still undecided as to which goalkeeper will be selected to start Friday’s opening 2018 World Cup qualifier against Uganda in Tamale.

But Damba, a national icon known for his superb agility in the post during his days, has advised Grant as to the way forward in solving the inconsistent decisions regarding the goalkeeping department of the current Black Stars team.

He said: “Looking at our Black Stars team, we have been very confident in Brimah, even though he may be having challenges or making mistakes, but he’s the most capped goalkeeper among the three current goalkeepers and also, the one who is used to our back line.

“Now, I’m not looking at him as an individual but rather, a team player and I think Razak Braimah should be in the post for us because of consistency”, he told Ashh FM.

Brimah was in-between the sticks in the final 2017 Africa Cup of Nations against Rwanda, while Kwarasey started against Russia.
