‘Peeved’ National Chapters Committee (NCC) Chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak Barimah Attuahene has mentioned that he will continue to protest the appointment of the Club’s former NCC Chairman, Alhaji Akambi and Vincent Sowah Odotei to the Board
According to him, the two persons being brought on board have issues with the supporters which are yet to be solved.
On Alhaji Akanbi, he alleged that former NCC boss embezzled supporter’s cash from MTN and that issues was yet to be resolved and owing to these factors it was right for the board to suspend their approval, to look into these matters before approving their membership on the Board.
“Akambi chopped the MTN sponsorship money which was allocated to the fans for traveling and other things and he hasn’t paid a pesewa. The Board has not made him refund the money and yet they deem it fit for him to be part of the Board” he asked.
On Mr. Odotei, the supporters leader stated that before he was sacked in 2010, he had problems with the supporters which was unresolved and it played a major role in his sacking from the club at the time and also his constant verbal tirade with the hierarchy of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) was one which would bring bad PR to the club who at the moment is struggling to do away with bad image it has enjoyed over their poor performance in the league last season.
Asked whether he would quit the board, Barimah Atuahene remarked that “it has not gotten to that point yet and that he serves a constituency and he would go and sit with them to decide the next line of action to take.
