Youngster Safianu Awudu was voted the best player in the G-6 Invitational tournament match between Brekum Chelsea and Ashantigold.
The diminutive player who was a delight to watch at the midfield of Chelsea and it came as little surprise when his name was mentioned as the man of the match for the first game of the tournament.
For his prize, he received a plaque from the headline sponsors of the tournament First Trust Savings and Loans.
Safianu Awudu mentioned that he was humbled by the award taking into account the calibre of players he played against in the match and dedicated it to both his Berekum Chelsea teammates as well as the technical team.
“I did not really thunk I was going to win this. In fact, we did not know there anything like that. All we wanted to do was to give the fans a good game and I believe that though we failed to score, we managed to achieve that”, Safianu Awudu told footballcrusader.com.
