Asamoah Gyan has been handed his favourite no.3 jersey as he begins his first pre-season with Shanghai SIPG.
The Black Stars captain is back working with his Chinese club after spending an extensive holiday in his native Ghana following the end of the Super League.
Gyan returned to Shanghai’s training base in Spain to the delight of being handed his favourite no.3 jersey.

The no.3 jersey became available to Gyan following the decision of defender Kim Ju-Young to move onto to take up the no.13 shirt.

The former Sunderland hitman joined the Chinese big spenders’ midway through last season in a mega dollar move from UAE club Al Ain.
He is considered one of the highest earning football players in the world with a reported weekly wage in excess of $300,000.
