Coach John Kila targets premiership stay with WAFA

Coach of the West Africa Football Academy (WAFA), John Kila has said his outfit is confident of staying in the Ghanaian top-flight league for long time, despite the stiff opposition.

The new Ghanaian season kick-off on Saturday, with WAFA beating Asante Kotoko at Sogakope 2-0 in the opening game of the campaign.

And Coach Kila has said they are confident of doing well this season considering the hard work they did in their pre-season preparations which saw them travel to neighboring Togo to play two friendlies with their local national team.

Coach Kila said in an interview on Friday that they expect to improve on their performance of last season where they finished 10th on their return to the Ghanaian top-flight.

“We hope to make the most of our home advantage starting with Saturday’s game against Asante Kotoko and build on from there.” he said.

Last season, they were undone by their away performance an area that played a key factor in their position on the league table at the end of the campaign.

“We will like to improve on our away performance this season and with that, we are hopeful of being near the top of the ladder when the season ends.” He added.
