Veteran Ashanti Gold SC goalkeeper, Fatau Dauda has called on Ghanaian football fans to throw their waits behind the Miners on Sunday when they come up against Algerian side O.M. Bejaia in the first round of the 2016 CAF Champions league.
According to the 30-year old Black Stars shot-stopper, the game on Sunday is just not about Ashgold.
“The game on Sunday is not just about Ashgold. It’s an international match and so regardless of the Ghanaian team you support, you should come and supports us on Sunday” he said.
“We need the supports and prayers of every Ghanaian in order for the players to be able to deliver on the pitch come Sunday” Fatau Dauda added.
Ghana Premier League Champions Ashanti Gold SC and FA Cup winners Medeama SC are Ghana’s sole representatives in Africa’s club competition- CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup respectively, and will both need to make it to the group stages for the country to get additional slots.
