Kumasi Asante Kotoko lost out the two prestigious trophies, league crown and MTN FA Cup they won in the 2015 football season to AshantiGold and Medeama SC, meaning they ended the season empty-handed, and Jackson Owusu admits it was a failure.
“Every Kotoko player expects to win major trophies and also play in Africa. I admit we failed last season but we have put everything behind us and focusing on what is ahead. We must win the league or FA Cup and qualify for Africa next year because we have gotten the right materials to excel on the continent,” He told asantekotokosc.com.
Jackson Owusu joined Asante Kotoko from Berekum Chelsea last year, and he is disappointed he could not help the club to maintain their premier league title winning run.
He wants to change that in his second year with the Porcupine Warriors.
“I won nothing in my first season with Kotoko and I am determined to make amends in 2016. I like the way we have delivered and won some trophies in the off-season but the league and MTN FA Cup remain my topmost priority,” he said.
Owusu Jackson played 26 out of 30 premier league matches last season and he believes that the players have learnt many things from their mistakes last season and will improve on it to ensure success this time round.
