A rehabilitation programme is to begin for Jackson Owusu who underwent a surgery on Monday evening after sustaining an injury on Sunday.
Team Physiotherapist, Jerry Newton Pratt told Asantekotokosc.com that, with the surgery over, the next line of action is rehabilitation.
The rehabilitation, he said would be in three phases and could take months. “It’s in phases. For the phase one, we will work on the thigh muscles, knee and ankle joints. He won’t bear weight on the leg. There will be non-weight, partial weight and full weight bearing” he said.
“The second phase will focus on strength in the thigh, strength in the knee, walking on treadmills while for the last phase, we will do stimulating and field works; that’s doing the things he used to do followed by his integration into the team.
“This could all take four to six months and they also dependent on his cooperation and several other factors” added Newton who assured that, Jackson Owusu would be given the best medical care as done for other players who experienced similar cases.
Among the club officials who visited Jackson Owusu immediately after the surgery at the hospital were Deputy Physiotherapist, Cosmos Appiah and Assistant Coach Michael Osei.
