Lionel Messi is out of the second leg Copa Del Rey tie against Valencia at the Mestalla Stadium after suffering from some kidney stone issues.
The current FIFA Ballon Dor holder missed training section on Monday in their preparation for the match against Valencia.
The club released a statement that read” FC Barcelona striker Lionel Messi will undergo several tests on Monday and Tuesday to assess the evolution of the kidney problems he suffered last December. Messi will return to his normal duties with the first team on Wednesday”.
According to Diario Sport’s, Leo is actually undergoing a small procedure to fully clean his kidney and get rid of the issue permanently.
The tie which is considered not necessary in the first place, since Messi bagged a hat-trick in last week’s 7-0 destruction,as the possibility for an overturn is impossible.
Messi is expected to resume full training on Thursday.
