Techiman City FC midfielder Iddrisu Mohammed is relishing the chance of pocketing his first ever three points in the topflight league when they welcome Berekum Chelsea in the opening matches of the 2016 football season on Sunday.
The 18 year midfield-general embraced the chance to flex muscles with the elite players in the country and has assured fans of the Brong Ahafo based side their first ever three points in the GPL.
The defensive midfielder starred at the middle of the pitch for Charles Kojo Ntim’s charges as they picked the sole ticket to the top flight in Zone I amidst legal tussles.
Mohammed, who missed out on the national grid at the juvenile stages due to paper work, is poised to bag his first ever competitive win against a top flight side when they welcome 2010/11 GPL champions Berekum Chelsea over the weekends at the Techiman Park.
The one time Berekum Chelsea target admitted the nervy and difficult moment he and his TCFC colleagues went through during the legal battle for their ticket to the top flight but has pledged to pay back fans of the Premier league newbies three points on Sunday.
He told sports crusader, “we went through difficult times during the legal cases as to whether we were going to play or not but in the end we are now ready to represent Techiman City.
“It is an honour to wear the TCFC jersey and we will do everything to defend the colours with the last drop of blood in us.
“Our target for now is to get the three points and kick start our season on a brilliant note. A win for TCFC will the best of achievement on the opening day for us the playing staff”.
The GFA appeals committee overturned TCFC’s demotion as pronounced by the discplinary committee just two days to the start of the 2016 season openers across the country.
