Ben Tetteh Wins Belgium League Cup With Standard Liege.

Ghana Youth International Benjamin Tetteh has won the Belgium League Cup with Standard Liege after a final showdown to Club Brugge.

The 19 year old attacker traded Dreams FC for the exodus train and has capped an impressive debut season in the Belgium Pro League with his first ever professional silverware.

Croatian forward Ivan Santini gave Standard a well deserved 2-1 win over the league champions at the Rio Bandiun noisy stadium on sunday night.

Club Brugge headed into the fixture as League champions and look set to add the domestic cup to their trophy haul after seeing off Gent in the semis.

Senegalese hitman Jean Luc Dompe however cut short their hopes with a 17th minute strike to put Standard ahead.

The high flying Brugge responded in style with an equalizer ten minutes after going behind thanks to Lio Refaelov.

Croatian centre forward however prevented the tie from going into extra with an 88th minute finish to hand Standard a well deserved 2-1 triumph on the day.

Benjamin Tetteh, who has since managed 12 appearances for Yannick Fevera’s men, was an used substitute for Standard despite playing crucial role in the cup campaign.

Tetteh joined Standard from then second tier side Dreams FC after an impressive turnout for Sellas Tetteh’s side at the 2015 FIFA WYC in New Zealand.
