Coach Kobina Amissah of GN Bank Division One outfit, Elmina Sharks has targeted a place in the Ghanaian top-flight league next season.
The Sharks were narrowly beaten to the sole ticket from Zone Two by Ebusua Dwarfs at the end of last season, but, Coach Amissah said they have learnt a great deal from that experience and that they will build on this.
“It was unfortunate that we lost out to Dwarfs for a place in the Ghana Premier League last season, but, the experienced gained will spur us on to achieve even better at the end of this campaign.” He said in an interview.
Sharks have made a good start in their attempt to gain qualification to the elite division next season with Coach Amissah’s side beating former top-flight campaigners, King Faisal 2-1 at home.
“This is a good result for us as it was important that we began on a good note,” he said, adding that, “we will take the games as they come hoping to fulfill our ambition at the end of the competition.”
They will however face a tough battle on hand if they are to make it from this zone as some very formidable opposition exist and have ambition of their own.
“We are aware of the competitive nature of Zone Two, but, we are also a force and the experience we have gained should be enough to see us through even though we respect all opposition.” He stated.
Aside, King Faisal, they will have to battle past Eleven Wise, Gold Stars, Venomous Vipers, Cornerstones and Dunkwa United among others for the sole ticket in this 16-club contest.
