Confirmed: GFA Gives Financial Aid to GPL Clubs

The Ghana Football Association has given $10, 000 to each Ghana Premier League Club to cushion then in the ongoing competition.


Sports crusader revealed about a week ago that the football governing was considering pre-financing clubs to ease off the financial burden, until a sponsor is found to replace First Capital Plus Bank now Capital Bank.


Abdul Salam Yakubu, bank roller of New Edubiase in an interview with Kumasi-based Nhyira FM confirmed that the GFA has given clubs $10,000.


‘’Yeah, it’s true the FA has given each club $10,000,” he said


Abdul Salam has been vocal for the Ghana FA to get a sponsor to aid the clubs in their participation in the domestic top flight league.


He believes his calls hasn’t fallen an death ears and he is excited the FA has made the money available. He says it will lessen the financial burden in the clubs.


“I think it will lessen the burdens on us a little bit. At least they have responded to our calls.” He noted.
