Bechem United marksman, Francis Afriyie is targeting finishing the Ghana Premier League (GPL) campaign as the top scorer and said he is working towards that.
Afriyie, has one goal in two games, and, said he will score even more to finish the GPL season as the player with the most goals scored when the season ends.
“I am working very hard to attain this target and I have every confidence that it will come to pass with the help of my teammates,” he said after their training on Friday.
The player will hope to be among the goals when his side hosts New Edubiase United on Sunday at the Bechem Park hoping for their second home win of the GPL campaign.
Bechem United accounted for Liberty Professionals 2-0 in their first game of the season with Afriyie opening the scoring for the home side.
He drew a blank when they lost 0-1 to debutants Dreams FC at Dawu last Sunday, but hope to bounce back by contributing a goal or two on Sunday.
“We want to make our fans happy on Sunday, and, this is what we have been working on since our last game,” he said, adding that “every member of our squad has targets, and, mine is to finish the season as the top scorer”.
