Gyan Provides Assist For Shanghai SPIG In Champions League Victory

Black Stars captain Asamoah provided a vital assist in Shanghai SPIG hard earned victory over Gambi in the Asian Champions league on Tuesday.


The former Al Ain centre forward sumptuously teed up Brazilian strike partner Elkesson to open the scoring four minutes to recess in a 2-1 win.


The nomadic attacker however failed to add to his goal tally before leaving the pitch with two minutes to regulation time.


Shanghai SPIG dropped points in the Shenghai derby to Shenhua but returned stronger to force home their second victory in the continental showdown in gruop G thanks to a brace from their Brazilian forward.


Asomoah missed the opening fixture in the much awaited fixture for SPIG due a muscular injury but returned to steer his side to the top of Gruop G in the Asian Champions league.


Gyan headed to Shangai SPIG last season after fruitful deal in Saudi that saw rose to stardom and fame across the country.


The Black Stars captain’s return to full fitness will be a big boost to Avrant Grant who could be denied the services of Mubarack Wakasu and Kwadwo Asamoah for the upcoming December 24, Narhc at the Accra Sports.
