Accra Hearts of Oak has increased ticket prices for their match week four Ghana Premier League fixture against Bechem United by hundred percent.
The Phobians charged GHS C5, GHS 10 and GHS 15 for their opening league match of the season against New Edubiase at the Accra S sports stadium, but has doubled the figure for the upcoming game Bechem United.
Tickets will now go for GHS 10, GHS 15 and GHS 20 respectively.
The Public Relations Officer of the club Kwame Opare Addo explained that other clubs, especially Techiman City charge twice their match week one prices, but continue to have massive spectatory at their home venue.
He reckon the increment in the rates is a measure of getting the fans to contribute to the development of the club.
“If clubs like Techiman City are able to charge GHC10 at the popular stand and still have fans trooping to watch their matches, why not Hearts? Opare Addo quizzed on Asempa FM and quoted by Ghana soccer net.
“When we went to Cape Coast, most of the fans there were Hearts fans and the same thing applies to the numbers at Tarkwah. So the fans will come no matter what,” he said.
