Injured Ayew Likely To Miss Mozambique Double Header

British based Ghanaian attacker Andre Ayew is set to miss the crucial 2017 AFCN qualifiers against Mozambique after picking an angle injury over the weekend.

The Swansea City attacking sensation missed the trip to AFC Bournemouth due to an ankle injury which is likely to rule him out of action for the next two weeks.

The Black Stars welcome Mozambique to the Accra Sports stadium on March 24, 2016 before trekking to Maputo for the return leg three days time.

Andre’s set back brings more headaches to the Black Stars Israeli trainer Avrant Grant, who has been rocked with injuries to Mubarack Wakasu, Kwadwo Asamoah and Asamoah Gyan.

The captain and his Juventus compatriot however recently returned to match fitness after a spell on the sideline and it is unclear whether Avrant will like to rush them back into the national team.

Andre Ayew has been one of the keg cogs in the Black Stars in recent times after an indifferent start to his international career eight years ago.

The 26 year old Welsh based Ghanaian missed the trip to the Vitality stadium for Swansea in a thrilling 3-2 defeat on Saturday.

Official statement from the Swans confirmed the injured Ghanaian set back but is yet to give details on the details of the injury.
