Accra Hearts of Oak moved top of the table after they thrashed Bechem United three goals to one in match week 4 of the 2015/16 Ghana premier league clash at the Accra Sports stadium.
The Phobians knew what they needed to do 24-hours prior to kick off after fellow Dreams FC and Wa All stars shared points when the two teams met.
Hearts got off to a good start with pocket of half chances to the joy of the spectators who were present to cheer the team onto victory.
Cosmos Dauda created Hearts’ first chance at goal after beating the Bechem United defenders but unable to go past goal keeper, Ernest Adu.
Bechem United forward, Abednego Tetteh who was a handful for Robin Gnagne and Richard Akrofi in the early stages of the game hit the upright of Soulama’s goal to awaken the Phobians who taught the game was going to be a stroll in the park.
On the 40th minute mark, the in-form Samuel Yeboah tapped in from the far post, to give Hearts the lead and send the stadium into rapturous mood with half time minutes away.
Bechem United started the second half the brightest of the two with early control of the game and got the Hearts fans to register their displeasure with jeering of the team and it nearly turned worse as poor goal keeping from Soulama Abdulai nearly gifted Bechem United the equaliser from a harmless cross.
Hearts finally took over possession of the game but once again goal keeper Ernest Adu denied the Phobians the second goal as he saved a pile drive from Samuel Yeboah to keep score at Hearts 1 Bechem United 0.
Man-of-the-match, Isaac Mensah tapped into an open net after a beautiful team play from Hearts of Oak to give the Phobians the valuable two goal cushion.
Once again goal keeper, Ernest Adu put in another brilliant save from a powerful low drive from Samuel Yeboah to give the Hearts a corner kick that resulted in the third goal of the game from a venomous shot unleashed from 25-yards by Mustapha Essuman that found the top corner of the net to give the Phobians the valuable second goal.
Hearts conceded their first Goal of the season as John Nyamekye shot straight throw the hands of Soulama Abdulai to give Bechem United a consolation goal after playing the best game of the match in the dying embers of the game.
