Medeama SC To Leave For Tripoli On Thursday

Ghana Premier League side, Medeama SC will leave the shores of Ghana on Thursday for the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup fixture against Ittihad Tripoli.


The Tarkwa-based booked a ticket to represent Ghana in CAF’s inter-club football competition after beating Asante Kotoko to the MTN FA Cup last year.


Their Mauve and Yellows reached final qualifying stage in 2014, and were drawn to the join the competition in the 1/16th stage against the winner of the Ittihad (Libya) -AS Sonidep (Niger).


Ittihad Tripoli came knocked out AS Sonidep of Niger in the two-legged tie, and will play the Ghanaians in the coming weekend.


The first leg will take place in Tripoli and the Essipong sports stadium will host the return leg in a fortnight.


Medeama SC remains only Ghana representative in Africa inter-club football competition after defending league champions AshGold were knocked out by M.O Bejaia of Algeria.
