Free kick expert Wahidu Mumuni has expressed his excitement after earning nomination for goal of the month award.
The Wa All Stars utility midfielder delivered an artful dead ball at the Dawu Park to earn his side valuable points in match day four and has since been recognized across the country for his unique execution.
The midfielder is gunning for goal of the month alongside Malik Akowuah and Bismark Oppong for the goal of the month award.
Ghana Football Statistics nominated the trio for its February Goal of The Month award for their aesthetically driven goals across the country.
Akowuah unleashed a venomous Free kick for Medeama SC away to Kumasi Asante Kotoko in a 2-2 drawn game in Kumasi, a game in which Bismark Oppong also scored his nominated goal.
“Free Kicks is part and parcel of my game ever since I was a little boy. I have developed a strong appetite for the dead balls no matter the position on the field.
“To have earned nomination for goal of the month award for something I like doing, I think my work is been recognized beyond my imagination.
“I am confident more goals will come from the dead balls irrespective of the position, opposition or the stage. I just can’t wait to be crowned the winner InSha Allah. Aside the exposure it has already to my career, I think my confidence level has increased as well”,Wahidu told sports crusader exclusively.
The former Wa Anokye Stars versatile midfielder has earned reputation across his playing career for his deadly strikes of the ball with either foot highlighted by that delightful free kick at the Theater of Dreams.
