PLB Boss Commends Media For Massive Coverage of The GPL

Chairman of the Professional League Board (PLB) Mr. Ashford Tetteh Oku has has commended the media for their improved coverage of the Ghana Premier League.

The experienced administrator heaped kind words on the positive role played by the media on the local scene after just four weeks of match actions across the nation.

The 2016 GPL has been patronized by fans across the various venues but the PLB Boss even hinted at improving these numbers if the media continue their good work.

Mr. Tetteh Oku, who took over from the retired Welbeck Abbra Appiah, singled out the massive patronage enjoyed by the preseason frendly matches and the GHALCA FIRST TRUST G6 tournament as enough to have envisaged such numbers ahead of the new season.

“I am not surprised at the massive patronage the league is currently enjoying at all.

“As an optimist, I wasn’t really discouraged by the turn of events during the preseason, they was enough to suggest good things ahead of the season.

“I was convinced Ghanaians loved their football and that with the appropriate steps in generating the necessary hype, clubs marketing their home games, wonderful media support, it shall be well for the league.” Mr Tetteh Oku told sports crusader.

The confident speaking PLB Boss then credited the media for the extra ordinary numbers thronging our match venues across the nation.

“Collectively we all share the credit for the massive patronage so far. Let us sustain the promotion as a a unit as across the whole season”, The PLB Boss rounded off.

The 2016 GPL has enjoyed massive patronage in its early days despite having early challenges on its scheduled kick offs.
