Profile on Edward Kakembo, Isaac Dogboe"s Opponent

Edward Shaka Kakembo is the current holder of the African Boxing Union (ABU) Featherweight title who hales from Kampala, Uganda.


The Ugandan boxer who is also referred to as the Messiah in his biggest fight of his career  beat Waidi “skoro” Usman in tremendous faction  last December 2015 to clinch the vacant ABU Featherweight title at the Hall of the National Stadium  Lagos, Nigeria.


The young boxer made his debut on 21 April 2013 against Friday Mugoya at Sabrina Pub in Kampala, Uganda with a unanimous decision on that day , which illuminated him as the future of Uganda boxing.







Kakembo on January 15 was announced winner of Nile Special Sports Personality Award after his exploit at the fifth edition of GOtv Boxing Night where he won the ABU featherweight title.


The orthodox boxer in totality has had 61 rounds in his professional boxing career with 30% of knockout,his three knockout came against Abdala Batwaula, Umbar Dmanbah and Iyubu Rheben.


Issac Dogbe (13 -0, 8KO) would have to be at his best to defeat Kakembo who is Undisputed African Featherweight King to reclaim his tag as the best in Africa, on the 28 May 2016 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
