Officials of the Ghana Football Association have mentioned that some players in the ongoing 2015/16 Ghana Premier League, can easily make it into the Black Stars team.
Coach Avram Grant is expected to name his 18-man squad for Ghana’s upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mozambique later this month.
Already some names apart from the regular players have started emerging and this time, some local players have been tipped to make it into Coach Avram Grant’s team.
“I believe that some players in the local league can make it into the Black Stars easily, looking at the quality of the league so far”, Communications Director of the GFA Ibrahim Saanie Daara mentioned.
According to him, players like Hearts of Oak’s Samudeen Ibrahim, WAFA’s Samuel Tetteh and Baba Mahama are likely candidates to gain cal up into the Black Stars, but all that well depend on the coach.
“We all know that the selection is done by the coaches, but I believe that players like Samudeen, Samuel Tetteh, Baba Mahama can all make it into the team because they are good and can challenge for a position with their foreign counterparts.”
The Black Stars take on the Mumbai of Mozambique on March 24 before travelling to Maputo three days later for the return leg.
