SAFA Prez Urge Sundowns To Beat Medeama

President of the South Africa Football Association (SAFA), Danny Jordan has urged Mamelodi Sundowns to beat Ghanaian side Medeama SC to keep the flag of the country high in Africa club football.

The two sides will battle each other in the Confederation Cup first leg final play-off tie at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria on Saturday, with the return fixture in two weeks’ time at the Essipong Sports Stadium in Ghana.

Sundowns were crowned South African champions last Wednesday after thrashing neighbours University of Pretoria 3-0 and they have to put their celebrations on hold as they turn their attention to continental football.

“You are the only team left in the CAF competition from South Africa and again we want to wish you all the best. Go make us proud by flying the country’s flag high. We hope that your title-winning performance will continue on Saturday and spur you on to beat Medeama,” Jordaan said.

Meanwhile the Ghanaians have safely arrived in Pretoria and they are currently lodging at Holiday Inn Express Hotel.
