Medeama SC custodian Muntari Tagoe is confident they will sail through to the Group Phase of the CAF Confederation Cup despite their managerial setbacks.
The shot stopper ruled out any side effect of their departed head coach who left the club after their 3-1 defeat to Sundowns in South Africa.
Tagoe charged his colleagues to draw motivation from the current circumstances surrounding the club and overhaul the first leg deficit.
The 23 year old dubbed the clash as a national assignment and urged his colleagues to approach the game as such if their very lives depends on it if they are to keep their dreams alive.
“The team has done its possible best to reach this far in the Confederation Cup and will capitalize on that to make the Group Phase. It has not been that easy for us in the competition but under the inspiration of the technical and management team of the club, we have reached this stage,” he said.
“As a player I cannot comment on Tom Strand but I am confident we will sail through in the return leg on home turf. This is not a club assignment for Medeama SC but a national assignment that must be treated with all the needed attention. The group stage is a motivation for every player on its own and we are sure we will make it”, Tagoe told sportscrusader.com exclusively.
The Mauve and Yellow side have so far been invincible at home in all their continental assignments and will need a 2-0 win to book a place in the money zone of the 2016 CAF Confederation Cup.
