Real Madrid will exercise a £23.6m buy-back option included in Alvaro Morata’s contract when they sold him to Juventus in July 2014.

And then swiftly make a profit by selling him to the highest bidder for roughly £40m, according to The Guardian.

Premier League quartet Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have all been tipped to sign the talented striker.

But they face stiff competition from Paris St-Germain, who are eyeing a long-term replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

It’s believed the 23-year-old would favour a move to Old Trafford providing Jose Mourinho replaces Louis van Gaal this summer.

Mourinho, 53, gave Morata his debut at Real Madrid in December 2010, where they shared an excellent working relationship.

Asked about the Portuguese tactician, Morata said: “Mourinho could have chosen some other player but he chose me and I’ll be grateful to him for the rest of my life.”

New Chelsea manager Antonio Conte brought Morata to Juventus towards the end of his tenure and would like to sign him for a second time.

However, any deal would hinge on whether Diego Costa remains at Stamford Bridge.
