Head coach of Ghana Premier League (GPL) debutants, Dreams FC, Charles Kwabena Akunnor has pin-pointed his side’s embarrassing 4-0 defeat to Aduana Stars to defensive indiscipline on the part of his team.
The defeat was the Dawu based sides third away lose of the campaign and Akunnor mentioned that his side’s dominating performance in the game was eclipsed by the poor defensive work by the team as whole.
Akunnor who could not understand how his team conceded three goals in 30 minutes said, “Defeats are part of it [football] but once we’re in the game we must concentrate and do what we do best. We were able to play, possess the ball but defensively we were very poor- the entire team,” he said in the post match presser at the Nana Agyemang Babu Park in Dormaa.”
The former Hearts of Oak trainer added: “We were aware of all that and we worked very well towards it with the idea of keeping them off especially in standard situations but we lost it in some moments of the game and it cost us the defeat. I must say, defensively the entire
team was very poor”.
Dreams FC are sixth on the GPL table with 17 points after 11 games and will next play Liberty Professionals at Dawu next.
