Accra Hearts of Oak central defender, Vincent Atingah has said the team is fully concentrated and focused on the task ahead now that they have taken leadership of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) table.
The Phobians moved top of the log with their hard-fought 1-0 victory away to Berekum Chelsea last Sunday as previous leaders, Wa All Stars lost, and, the big man says they are determined to keep their position at the top.
He told the clubs official newspaper, the Hearts News that they will work extra hard to maintain top spot as they chase a first league title since the season of 2008/09.
“We will not be complacent by our position on the league table,” Atingah said, adding that there are a lot more matches to play with those behind them eager to take advantage of any slip-up on their part.
“There are 19 more games to be played in the GPL, and, every point is important; we will therefore work extra hard to win as many of them as possible to clinch the title at the end o the campaign,” he said.
Hearts of Oak will be engaged in a friendly encounter with lower tier side Storm Stars Academy at Larteh Akwuapem on Sunday as the GPL takes a break this weekend.
They lead the standing with 21 points after 11 games, and will next host Sekondi Hasaacas at the Accra Sports Stadium next Wednesday when the competition resumes.
We Are Fully Concentrated - Atingah
