Prisons Ladies Manager Bemoans Lack Of Sponsorship For Women’s League

Team Manager of Prisons ladies, Mrs.  Naomi Abdulai has bemoan the lack of sponsorship for the Ghana National Women’s League, stating that no club is getting it easy with finances.

The National Women’s League has since its maiden edition in 2012, not seen any sponsorship, and the experience team manager has gas called on Cooperate Bodies to come to the aid of the League.

Despite the Sunyani based side being funded by the Ghana Prison Service, traveling cost to honour League matches at other centers in the Northern Sector is a case if worry.

And with the National Women’s Knockout competition set to kick off in the coming days, expenditure of the clubs is likely to shoot up and Naomi believes  FIFA,’s support alone will not solve the financial problems of the teams.

“Equipment’s can never be enough for any club. The equipment can only help support the clubs to come out with a nice appearance. It cannot sponsor any club. We wouldn’t come out to say that, we are getting it cheap. Not any club is getting it easy at all. We are security personnel but the challenge is everywhere”, she said in an interview.

The Women’s League will kick off its second round on the weekend of 18th, and 19th of June 2016 after the first round ended on May 28.
