Habib Mohammed Set To Join GPL Giant

Former Black Stars defender Habib Mohammed is set to return to the Ghana Premier League (GPL) after revealing talks with some clubs in the domestic top-flight.


The 32-year-old has been on the low since shooting to fame after an excellent performance for Ghana at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany and has been unattached for close to a year after ending his contract with Iraqi side Al- Talaba

“There were some chaos in the country, so I couldn’t continue after my contract, most people don’t know am even back in the country,” he told Accra FM.


“I am in talks with some local Clubs so I might sign for a local Club and play again in the Ghana Premier League”.


The former King Faisal and Smouha defender featured in Ghana at the 2006 FIFA World where he was regarded as one of the stand out players in the team that got into the round of 16.
