Techiman City Defender Attributes Team"s GPL Debut Performance To Fans

Techiman City Football club defender Iddrisu Mohammed has commended fans of the premier league newbies for their improved start to the top flight.


The energetic right back commended fans of the Brong Ahafo based premier league new comers for their dream start to the top flight.


Techiman City defied the odds by ending the first half unbeaten at home on their debut season in the Ghanaian top tier league.


Known in the soccer fraternity as ‘Enemies are not God’, Techiman City FC won numerous fans across the nation for their stupendous debut season spiced by their vociferous fans at the Nana Ohene Ameyaw Park.


Midfielder turned rightback for the new comers, Mohammed Iddrisu, acknowledged the immense role played by their fan base ahead of the second round.


” I appreciate the positive impact of our fans in our debut season in the Premiership. They have played an immense role in our lively start to the league and are the reason why we are so strong.


Their importance has been felt all season highlighted by our comeback win over Aduana Stars from 2-0 down in the MTN FA Cup. They should extend this kind of support into the second round of the season”, Iddrisu told www.sportscrusader.com.


On his personal form in the top flight, the energetic full back expressed satisfaction at life in the Ghana Premier league.

He said, ” Personally my first round has been very good with 13 appearance to my name. My own personal record of 1 goal and 4 assists as fullback excites me but I believe I can still improve in the second round. The contribution of my trainer Yussif Abubakari has been priceless in my young career so far”.


Techiman City and Wa All Stars ended the first round of the season as the only unbeaten sides at home.


The Brong based premier league have ammased 19 points in the first round with a game against Medeama slated for June 14, 2016.
