Major League Soccer (MLS) based Ghanaian forward Emmanuel Agyening Boateng powered LA Galaxy into the fifth round of the US open cup.
The winter arrival from Helsinborg excelled upfront for the MLS side in a nervy 4-1 win over La Maquina in the fourth round of the domestic cup.
LA Galaxy needed extra time to oust the spirited Maquina side with three extra time goals.
The much fancied Galaxy duly opened the scoring from Jose Villarreal in the opening 15 minutes of the cup tie.
Galaxy were however reduced to ten men soon afterwards before Rafael Garcia pulled parity for the second tier visitors.
Emmanuel Boateng then paved way for Sebastian Ledget who will later score twice on his arrival into the tie with less than 12 minutes to regulation time.
The Ghanaian has since registered 10 appearance since switching camp from the Allsvenkan league to La Galaxy during the winter transfer window.
