Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Ghana Youth international attacker Benjamin Acheampong has been left devastated on hearing the passing of Urea Asante after a short illness.
Benjamin Acheampong described the death of Urea as shocking and believes it is a universal caution to all footballers on the local scene.
The agile centre forward dubbed life in this world as meaningless and urged footballers to instill the fear of God into their social life alongside their chosen profession.
The devastated center forward touted the departed former Hearts Of Oak as one of the finest architects of the modern game and called for the mercies of God on him.
Speaking to www.sportscrusader.com on the sudden death of Urea Asante, Ben Acheampong sounded religiously amidst devastation.
“Yes we will all die one day but the death of Urea Asante left me thinking what next. He was one of the finest players in our generation and his death should be enough warning for those of us still in active football. I think it is time footballers instill the fear of God into their life knowing death waits for no man”, Ben told sports crusader.
The US based agile centre forward added, ” the technical abilities of Urea was a blessing to anybody by him and I believe it will take time to get over his lost. He was a great fellow even as an opponent. May the good Lord grant him favours eternally ”
Ben Acheampong starred prominently for Jordanian side Aqaba across the 2015 season but has been crocked by injuries since the end of the campaign.
The former Wa All Stars forward however look bound to return to the field by the start of the 2016/17 European season.
