UK Athlete Switches Allegiance To Ghana

UK born sprinter, Sean Safo-Antwi has changed nationality and will represent Ghana hence after being cleared to switch allegiance from Britain to compete for his new adopted nation with immediate effect.


The 25-year-old, who won the 60 metres at the Glasgow Indoor Grand Prix last month before finishing third at the British Championships, has been granted a transfer of allegiance.


Safo-Antwi asked the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) in January for permission to change allegiance and the transfer was unopposed by Great Britain.


Sean can compete in either 60m, 100m or 4X100m track and in other field events.

John Antwi set for a new manager as Ah Ahly fires Jose Pesiro

Egypt based Ghanaian attacker John Antwi is set to play under a new a manager after the departure of Portuguese trainer Jose Pesiro.


The 56 year old lasted just four months into his deal with the seven times African club champions before being shown the exit door.


Ahly remains one point adrift of the table topping Misr after the opening 12 rounds in the Egyptian top flight.


The Portuguese trainer won an impressive eight matches out of the opening 12 but painful defeats to Misr in the opening seems to have done the damage already.


The North African giants has since appointed Abdul Aziz Abdul Shafi on interim basis awaiting the arrival of a new head coach.


Antwi, 23, has endured a mixed season in the top flight despite his scary scoring rate for the North Africans.


The former Dreams FC and Sekondi Eleven Wise forward has been tipped by many home to win the top scoring gong at the end of the season.


The Ghanaian has rich experience in the North African league having already featured by Ismaily, Al Shabab before joining Al Ahly.
