The National Amateur Boxing Team, the Black Bombers, have failed to qualify for the Olympic Games in Rio, after a disappointing show in the AIBA African qualification held in Yaounde.
The Bombers sent nine boxers to the competition but failed to grab a single slot after the week long competition.
Azumah Mohammed who was the only hope for the country lost his encounter with Kedache Zohir in the Welterweight division after Abdul Wahid Omar earlier in the day lost lost via unanimous decision to Mohammed Hamout of Morocco in the third-place fight-off .
This result will came as a great shock to all boxing fans who had high hopes going into the qualifiers after an a very impressive showing in London four years ago.
The team is expected to depart from Yaounde tomorrow with the 17 man contingent which includes eight officials we will hopefully arrive at the Kotoka Airport the same day
with an Air Burkina flight.
