Inexperienced Players Caused Our Defeat - Baffoe

Inter Allies forward, Prince Baffoe has blamed inexperienced players for their loss to Liberty Professionals on Match Week Two of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday in Dansoman.

Inter Allies suffered a 2-1 defeat to Liberty Professionals at the Carl Reindolf Park on Sunday, a game head coach Herbert Addo made nine changes to the set-up that started against Aduana Stars in their first premier league game of the season.

And the former Kotoko attacking midfielder, reckon the inexperienced players who started the game were responsible for the loss.

“We played well, but two or three inexperienced players cost us,” the ex-Nania FC player told sportscrusader.com

“Lack of concentration on the part of some of us too allowed them to score two early goals in the first half.” Prince Baffoe noted.

Inter Allies started the game slowly, allowing Liberty Professionals to dictate the pace of the game and scored two early goals courtesy of Cephas Opoku and Latif Atta Blessing.

Prince Baffoe says the slow start was down to inadequate warm-up. He added that Liberty were determined to beat them and their lackluster start did not them on a bad pitch.

“We started slowly because we couldn’t warm up well before the game but after the first half, we were in a better shape for the second half and that was why we played well.

“The game was difficult because Liberty were determined to beat us so they made it difficult for us from the onset.

“The pitch affected us but that’s what we have in this country and there’s nothing we can do about it, the pitch is never an excuse for a loss.” He said.

Herbert Addo Explains Why He Made Whole Changes

Head coach of Inter Allies football Club, Hebert Addo has explained his decision to make nine changes to his team in the second week of the Ghana Premier League against Liberty Professionals.

Herbert Addo made nine changes to his side that defeated Aduana Stars at the Carl Reindolf Park on Sunday afternoon and suffered a 2-1 loss to Liberty Professionals in a heart-pumping game.

The decision raised eyebrows, but the former Hearts of Oak boss explained that he was protecting his players from injuries and acquisition of more yellow cards.

“The main reason for changing almost the whole team was to protect some players who are injured and others who have yellow cards,” the 70-year-old told the press after the game.

“Football is about opportunity and I also wanted to give other players the chance to show what they can do. If I have 20 players, they all should be able to play; so those who had chance were lucky to have gotten the opportunity but they didn’t take.

“This a game we could have played better. All the same I am not worried about the result I am worried about our performance, but hopefully, we will have better game next week.” He said.

Inter Allies will meet Dreams FC at the Tema sports stadium on Match Week Three of the Ghana Premier League.
