Revenged: Hearts Beat Edubiase In League Opener

Accra Hearts of Oak got off to a winning start with a win in their first game thanks a second half goal from striker, Samuel Ayew Yeboah.

The Phobians didn’t have a field day as one can deduce from the result but the victory is much sweeter for the rainbow club after suffering back-to-back defeats at the hands of the Adansi club. Hearts began the game the brightest of the two with early possession and goal creating opportunities.

With 20 minutes played into the game New Edubiase finally grew into the match and created minor opportunities of their own but like the Hearts forwards they wasted all.

Hearts rattled the cross bar in the second half to signal an indication they were ready for business in the season. Ex- GN Bank division player of the season, Samudeen Ibrahim was a torn in the flesh of the Edubiase side who just could not find the antidote to nullify his threat whenever he has the ball at his feet.

In the 80th minute the deadlock was finally broken when substitute striker, Samuel Yeboah received a headed pass from his skipper, Robin Gnagne with just 8-yards from goal, the former Heart of Lions player hit a low shot pass the on rushing New Edubiase goal keeper, Benjamin Mensah.

The Phobians had chances to add up to the scoring but Cosmos Dauda hit over the post after a swift turn onto his left foot when he could have laid down a pass to the inspiring Samudeen.
