Investigations conducted by footballcrusader.com can confirm that Accra Hearts of Oak have not signed a three-year deal with Singaporean company Mafro Sports as being rumoured in the sporting media.
According to our sources, officials of the Accra-based club rejected the proposal given them by Mafro Sports earlier last month, hence, there was no deal between the two parties.
According to the proposal, the Phobians will have to purchase 10,000 replica jerseys per year for the supporters and in return, Mafro Sports will sponsor them with jerseys and other training equipment for the next three years.
But this according to our sources within Hearts of Oak was rejected, hence there was no deal.
However, the Phobians purchased four sets of jerseys from Mafro Sports and will be using that for the nxt football season.
“Indeed, we had a proposal to buy some jersey’s and in return, they (Mafro Sports) will kit us for the new season. We thought that it was too demanding in terms of finances so we had to say no.”
“Instead, we bought Mafro Sports jerseys to use for the coming season. Four sets of jerseys were bought from Mafro and its all home and away.”
“So if the fans see us wearing Mafro Sports jerseys in subsequent matches and in the new season, it’s not a sponsorship deal, we actually bought.”
