Strand"s Departure Is A Blessing In Disguise

The owner of Medeama SC, Moses Armah Parker says the departure of club’s head coach Tom Strand could be a blessing in disguise.

Tom Strand abandoned the club on Sunday after their CAF Confederation Cup first leg defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa.

And Moses Parker, who employed him says his decision to flea from his job is a blessing to the club.

“Whatever has happened is good for us. When we were going [to South Africa], I decided not to go with him, but the CEO came in and pleaded on his behalf, but what has happened is good for us and we are going all out to qualify to the next stage of the competition,” Parker said after the team returned to Ghana.

Medeama suffered  a 1-3 loss to the South Africans and will require two goals without conceding to book a ticket to the group stage of the competition, but Parker is certain his team will qualify.

“I watched the match. The way the boys played against Sundowns, the way they pressed them, I know at the Essipong Stadium we can make it,” he said.
