The Senior National Rugby 7s team, the Black Eagles have started non-residential camping in Accra.
25 players have been called for national duty and have been training in the mornings and evenings at the Osu Salem park and University of Ghana Legon rugby pitch. Officials say they will reduce the number by close of the month and turn to full camping.
The Confederation of African Rugby (CAR) Rugby 7s competition starts on the 28 May 2016 in Lome Togo. Countries expected to battle the Black Eagles include Cameroon, Mali, Nigeria, Togo and Cote d’Ivoire.
The last time Ghana participated the Black Eagles finished second. After a successful 2015/2016 league season, all eyes are on the technical team to select the best players and form a fearful and winsome side for the championship.
