CAF Champions League winner with Accra Hearts of Oak, Charles Allotey has told Sportscrusader.com that his former side were inferior to fierce rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko when the two sides met in the top-liner of the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League (GPL) Match-Day 10 encounter in Accra last Monday.
Kotoko emerged victorious after goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye miscue gave the Porcupine Warriors all the three points but Allotey praised the performance by coach Michael Osei’s team.
The record Ghana Premier League champions dominated the midfield and ensured influential and experienced Hearts midfielder, Mustapha Essuman and young Sabahn Laryea were kept at bay with little space to operate.
And this Allotey believes confirmed Kotoko’s superiority in the game aside the fact that they have not lost to Hearts in Accra in six years.
“Kotoko were superior to Hearts in the game and what baffled me the most was the fact they have dominated encounters in Accra over the last few years,” Allotey said.
He added: “Kotoko played their hearts out and were more determined for the available three points than Hearts”.
