Adjei Wants Hearts Return


Former Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, Sammy Adjei has revealed that he wants a return to the club.


Sammy Adjei became a household name in Ghana football after a successful stint with the Phobians.



He is been unattached since leaving the club in 2013, but insist he is working hard and is in a good shape for competitive football.



“I have been keeping myself in shape, I have been training on my own, I am still active, I have spoken with some people at the Club that I want to come back,” the 35-year-old told Peace FM.



The former FC Ashdod goalkeeper said officials of the club has assured him that he is part if their plans and he should be with them during the second round of the 2015-16 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season.


“I am yet to hear from them, they have given me an assurance. Maybe in the second round I will be there,” he said.


Sammy Adjei was transferred from Hearts of Oak to Club Africain for a reported $150,000 (the highest transfer at that) on September 2005.


He returned to the club for second stint in an attempt to convince former Black Stars coach, Milovan Rajevac to include him to national team for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
