Thomas Abbey Grateful To Hearts Medical Team

Thomas Abbey has expressed immense gratitude to the Accra Hearts of Oak medical team and the doctors at the Ridge Hospital that worked on him for the excellent manner with which they have handled his injury situation so far.

The forward was injured in Hearts’ third league game of the season against Ebusua Dwarfs at Cape Coast, and, has not seen action since in the Ghana Premier League (GPL).

The good news however is that he has recovered from the rib injury he suffered and, has returned to training hoping to get back in shape to be considered for first team selection.

And Abbey has paid tribute to the club’s medics for their efforts in ensuring that he made a quick return to training as he battles to regain full fitness.

“I take this opportunity to say a big thank you to the medical team for all their efforts in making sure that I made a quick return to training,” he told the club’s official newspaper, the Hearts News.

“I hope to work my way back to the top again, and, although this will be a gradual affair, I am determined to prove myself to the technical team,” he assured.

Abbey trained with the rest of his colleagues on Monday as the team returned to training after their one week break at the end of the first round of the GPL.

He has been put on a special recovery training programme by the Hearts medical team as they monitor his progress, and, he is determined to make the most of this situation.

“Getting back to my previous level will require time, but, I am confident that I can make this transition faster to be able to return to action in the second round of the league,” Abbey said.
