West Ham forward Diafra Sakho has handed in a transfer request to the club, according to reports.
The Daily Mail claim Sunderland made an £11m bid for the 26-year-old last month and are still monitoring the Hammers hitman.
Slaven Bilic has made signing a striker his priority with AC Milan’s Carlos Bacca his No.1 transfer target.
The Colombian who impressed at the Copa America this summer, has a £25.4m release clause in his contract, but the reports suggest they would listen to offers lower than that.
West Ham are desperate to make a marquee signing before moving to the Olympic Stadium for the upcoming season.
And it appears Sakho realises his opportunities may be limited and therefore wants a new challenge.
Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce is familiar with the Senegalese forward after working with him during his time as West Ham manager.
In his first campaign at Upton Park, Sakho managed 12 goals in 26 matches but he struggled last season.
