Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Soccer Intellectuals, Mr. Robert Duncan has expressed confidence his side will pick up their form and try to win this seasons National Women’s League.
The Ajumako based side finished 2nd in the southern Sector last season with 15 points after 10 matches, 4 behind eventual winners Hasaacas ladies.
But Mr. Duncan, who saw some of his players left at the end of last season, believes his side still has the experience to win this season’s championship.
Speaking in an interview after their match week two victory over Halifax Ladies, the Soccer Intellectuals CEO said, “You see experience also counts, they played well but only the better side won. Last year we were second and this year we want to pick up to try and see whether we can take the trophy”
“So it’s like building up. We couldn’t win our first match after having some challenges. Moreover, some of my girls have decided not to play again, so they left. The team I presented last year is different from that of this year and I think getting to the end of the first round, we’ll start playing good football”, Mr. Duncan added.
Soccer Intellectuals are currently second in the Southern Sector of the Ghana Women’s League with 4 points, 2 behind defending champions Hasaacas Ladies after two matches.
