Noah Neequaye Star As Bolga All Stars Floor Tamale Utrecht

Bolga All Stars claimed top spot of Zone One after match day one of the GN Bank Division One league after smoothly defeating Tamale Utrecht 2-0 at the Bolgatanga sports stadium on Sunday afternoon.

A brace from top striker Noah Neequaye in each half of the game sealed the victory for the Stars of the East on the opening day of Ghana’s second domestic  flagship club competition.

Bolga All Stars dominated play from start to finish.

And their persistent dominance paid dividends on the 44th minute through Noah Neequaye who volleyed home after a super defence-splitting ball  by Prosper Ayine sent him through on goal, and he broke the virginity of the game.

The late first half strike was the only goal separating the two teams at the end of the first half.

Bolga All Stars continued from where they left off before recess and bossed the game in the second half of the match and could have added a second in the 56th minute, but Issaku Yahaya came second best to the Tamale Utrecht goalie after a one-on-one encounter.

At the other at the end of the pitch, Tamale Utrecht almost drew level on the 62nd minute but the timely clearance by Latif Abubakari, who eventually became the best player on the day after the final whistle, kept the score at 1-0.

Bolga All Stars lost it inspirational skipper Yussif Gomah to injury in the 72nd minute but that didn’t destabilised them as Noah Neequaye waltzed his way through the visitors defense and expertly volleyed home a good strike for the second goal, and his personal brace in the dying embers of the game, sending the Stars of the East to the summit of the league log after the first league games in Zone One.

Bolga All Stars next game in the division one league is an away tie against regional rivals Bawku United at the Bawku sports stadium on Sunday.

He said, “It’s a positive start to life in the Ghana premier league and I’m very happy with the maximum points collated but as a young team we keep making mistakes but we’re learning from it. We want to improve and our mistakes in games proves we are inexperienced but we will get there.”

Faking The Faith? || Spoken Word || Lonzo Jones

What is faith? Can it be faked? What does the believer need to do to get faith? Are you faking your faith?

Alonzo Jones answers these questions and more in his spoken word titled ‘Faking the faith?’

Faking The Faith? || Spoken Word || Lonzo Jones

Plead Your Case Pt 2 By Kenneth E. Hagin

How much stronger our faith should be. How much more should we be encouraged through faith to take authority over all the powers of hell and the devil. We can turn our face to the wall, so to speak, pray to God, and believe God, because we are workers with Him. How do we know we are workers together? We know because the Word says so. God has made man’s cooperation necessary in the Plan of Redemption. We must cooperate with God in order to enjoy our rights in His redemptive plan. That’s the reason He said, “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth” (Mark 9:23).

The Bible tells us, “the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him” (2 Chron. 16:9). He sent His Word to tell us what His plan is. He sent His Word to tell us that the Lord Jesus came and consummated that plan, arose from the dead, and then sat down at the right hand of the Father. You don’t sit down until the job is finished; that’s why He sat down. He had finished the job God sent Him to do. The Plan of Redemption is finished. Now it’s up to us to believe it; it’s up to us to cooperate with Him. That’s the reason Jesus said, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). Go tell them the Good News that Jesus bore their sins. But that’s not all the Gospel: “Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses” (Matt. 8:17).

Jesus wants us to go tell people that we are free from the bondage of Satan. That’s what He said to the woman who was bent over, suffering from a spirit of infirmity: “Ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?” (Luke 13:16). It was certain that Satan had bound her.

Hallelujah, I’m not in bondage to Satan! I’m not in bondage to sin! I’m not in bondage to sickness! I’m not in bondage to bad habits! I’m free! Jesus has set me free! “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32).

God-Moments Give You Success - Joseph Prince

God blessed many in the Bible by putting them at the right place at the right time, and He continues to do the same for His people today. Read on and let Joseph Prince show you how, when you turn to God in confidence, trusting in His grace and favor rather than your circumstances, you will find God-moments of success!

God wants to share with you the secret of how to live successfully during this time of financial turmoil. Ecclesiastes 3:15 says, “That which is has already been”. In other words, what is happening now has happened before—history repeats itself. So we can look at how God supplied for His people then and understand how He provides for us today.

It’s interesting to note that in Genesis, there was a global famine during Joseph’s life, and now in the end times, there is also a global financial famine. We see financial experts at a loss as to what to do next, and the news reports are often negative and depressing. Today’s situation can be described in Ecclesiastes 9:12:

Ecclesiastes 9:12
For man also does not know his time: Like fish taken in a cruel net, like birds caught in a snare, so the sons of men are snared in an evil time, when it falls suddenly upon them.

But let me share some good news with you and show you what God is doing during this “evil time”. In Ecclesiastes 9:11, Solomon says,

Ecclesiastes 9:11
I returned and saw under the sun that—the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all.

A Son Of God, Not Of Adam

It is important to remember that what is happening right now is not from God. This “cruel net” that the world is caught in, this financial famine, was not caused by God. And although “sons of men” may be snared like birds—even financial experts have been taken by surprise and are losing money—this does not apply to you, a believer in Christ.

How do I know this? Let us take a closer look at the term “sons of men”.

There are five Hebrew words for “man”. In Ecclesiastes 9:12—“So the sons of men are snared in an evil time”—the word used is adam, which means mankind or natural man. Therefore, those caught in the evil time are sons of adam, natural man.

Some of you may say, “Pastor Prince, it seems like I’m caught in this net too.” It might seem that way, but you are not. As believers, we are sons of God, not sons of adam. John 1:12 says,

John 1:12
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name…

So we are all, ladies too, sons of God! And once you are a son, you are a son forever. Your heavenly Father wants to give you success, so let’s find out about being at the right place at the right time.

Lack Of Concentration Cost Us - Fatau Dauda

Ashanti Gold Sporting Club goalkeeper, Fatau Dauda says the club failure to go past the first phase of the CAF Champions League was down to lack of concentration.

Ashanti Gold were knocked out of the continent’s flagship inter-club football competition, after a 3-1 loss to MO Bejaia in Algeria on Sunday.

And the Black Stars shot-stopper believes they played well and deserved a better result, but lack of concentration cause them dearly.

“We did very well, but just that we were unlucky. All the players gave off their best but the luck was not on our side,” the former Chippa United goalkeeper told Kumasi-based Angel FM.

“We had the game under control but along the line, we lost concentration and they took advantage of that. If you look at the first half, we equalised when they scored and could have even gone ahead.

“When we equalised the referee took certain decisions, but it wasn’t bad. The officiating was not bad. We played well and could have gotten at least a favorable result to qualify,” he noted.

Ashanti Gold booked the ticket to represent Ghana at the CAF Champions League.

Esther 4, 5

As we travel the road to recovery, fear may slow us down. It’s not that we expected the trip to be easy. But some elements can be intimidating, like listing and then sharing all the ugliness in our life with another human being. Esther experienced the degree to which fear can make us falter.

Her people, exiled Jews then scattered across the Persian Empire, faced extermination because of the vicious plot of Haman (see Esther 3). Esther, in her role as queen, was their only hope. Mordecai had become his cousin’s guardian after the young Esther’s parents had died. He now sent a message and documents to Esther detailing the vile scheme and asking her to go to the king and beg for mercy. This was risky business. Esther’s predecessor had angered the king and lost her position. To appear before him without a summons could result in execution (see Esther 4:11). Esther understandably balked at what she had to do. She was afraid.

Mordecai responded to her hesitation by pointing out that her refusal would mean her own death, as well as the deaths of her father’s family, and that her position may well have been given to her in light of the crisis her people now faced (see v. 14).

Esther, to her credit, responded to the reasoning of a man she trusted, fasted to gain spiritual strength and insight, sought the support of others in her preparations, made a commitment, accepted the potential price (death) she might have to pay (see vv. 15–16), and developed a plan (see Esther 5-7).

God graciously protected Esther. When she entered the king’s chamber, he granted her an audience and listened to her petition. Carefully and methodically Esther moved through her meticulously developed plan.

The product of her faith and hard work was her own survival and that of her people. When fear causes us to falter in our recovery, we must seek help. We must go to our accountability partner, sponsor, recovery leader, pastor, or Christian counselor. We don’t have to face our fears alone if we take the risk. Our recovery and the well-being of our families require action. However hard the next step might be, turning back now will have tragic consequences both for us and for those we love.

Taking The Next Step

But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses, 2 Corinthians 6:4 KJV

When you have no vision from God, no enthusiasm left in your life, and no one watching and encouraging you, it requires the grace of Almighty God to take the next step in your devotion to Him, in the reading and studying of His Word, in your family life, or in your duty to Him. It takes much more of the grace of God, and a much greater awareness of drawing upon Him, to take that next step, than it does to preach the gospel.

Every Christian must experience the essence of the incarnation by bringing the next step down into flesh-and-blood reality and by working it out with his hands. We lose interest and give up when we have no vision, no encouragement, and no improvement, but only experience our everyday life with its trivial tasks. The thing that really testifies for God and for the people of God in the long run is steady perseverance, even when the work cannot be seen by others. And the only way to live an undefeated life is to live looking to God. Ask God to keep the eyes of your spirit open to the risen Christ, and it will be impossible for drudgery to discourage you. Never allow yourself to think that some tasks are beneath your dignity or too insignificant for you to do, and remind yourself of the example of Christ in John 13:1–17.

O Lord, save us from the murmuring spirit, which is harmful, hurting the bloom of spiritual communion.

This Is Not The Time To Apportion Blames - Bright Lukeman

Ebusua Dwarfs striker, Bright Lukeman has said that current state of the club should not breed the room to point accusing fingers.

The ‘Abontobotoa’ boys suffered a second defeat on the bounce against New Edubiase on Friday and head coach J.E Sarpong accused the players of letting him down.

But Bright Lukman who scored 30 goals in the Division One League last season has called for patience and not war of words.

“We are disappointed in ourselves for loosing two matches in a row, but this not the time to apportion blames or point accusing fingers; but I must confess we are very disappointed ourselves,” Bright Lukman said after the game.

“We are not getting our rhythm, and the worst of it is that we did not play to tactical aspect of the game and we conceded a goal.

“We have to go to the drawing board and prepare for the next game.” He added

On a personal note, Bright Lukman who scored a goal almost every match last year, is disappointed he’s gone blank in two games. He attributed his barren run to problems he is facing currently.

“I am also disappointed in myself but I think I am facing some challenges and I have to beef up my training to catch up; all is not lost yet.” He stated.

Ghanaian Promoter Set To Build Boxing Arena

Mr.  Bio-Donkor sealed the deal to build the facility for under-privileged children in Ghana, providing them with an avenue to channel their energy.

The deal could also include staging boxing events in Ghana with collaboration with Hwang Hyun Ki, the President of Asia Kickboxing Federation and owner of Team RSC Boxing Promotions.

The deal was clinched during one of the visits of Mr Bio-Donkor when he met Young Choi, the Korean inventor who created Ice Tube, the bio-thermoregulation technology which turns human temperature into energy

Meanwhile, Hyung Byung Hun, the President of the Korean Professional Boxing Federation, has assured a free venue for a boxing promotion in Korea and possible shots at Pan Asian Boxing Association (PABA) belts for Ghanaian boxers

In a related development, a  group of Korean investors led by Jang Woo Lee, manager of Ice Tube, are expected in Ghana to finalise an agreement for a boxing promotion in Ghana as well as inspect the proposed site for the Gh Bosslink boxing gym

Jeff Schlupp Glad To Be Back For Leicester City"s Big Push

Ghanaian International, Jeffrey Schlupp has ended his injury nightmare to join Leicester City’s title-chasing dream.

The 23-year-old has spent three months on the sidelines after tearing his hamstring in a training session at Belvoir Drive and was forced to undergoing surgery to repair the damage.

However, the Leicester academy graduate made his comeback as a substitute in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Norwich City, a victory that has kept City top of the table with just 11 games remaining, and Schlupp says he now wants to play his part in what could be the most incredible season in the club’s history.

“It felt amazing to be back out there,” he said.

“It has been good to watch the boys do so well but you want to be part of that. It felt really good to be part of it today and finish on the winning team.

“I did it in training, just setting off on a sprint. It was a nasty tear but I am back now and everyone has been fantastic to me.

“Hopefully I can kick on now and get some more performances in.

“It was a nasty injury that needed that operation. I have just worked hard on coming back without rushing things.

“It was one those injuries where if you rush it you will keep doing it again. I have took my time, worked hard and here I am.

“I have had loads of help. The physio team here at Leicester have always been top notch and they have looked after me well.

“I have come back on time and if anything I am just ahead of schedule. A lot of credit to them.

“They looked after me well at the Princes Grace hospital where I had my operation too. I owe a big thank you to everyone.”

Schlupp has been with Leicester City since his schoolboy days and he admits he has had to pinch himself at times to believe what Claudio Ranieri’s men are doing this season as they challenge for the title and a Champions League spot, but he said he believed they could now go on and achieve something very special this season.

“It is almost becoming normal now [being top of the table],” he said.

“At first it was a shock to see us up there but we definitely deserve to be there.

“I think we have gained the respect from all the other so-called big dogs up there. Hopefully we can keep taking each game as it comes, keep picking up points and see where that takes us at the end of the season.

“I have been here through all of it. We got promoted from the Championship and stayed up last season as well. It has been great times here.

“I don’t want to jinx anything but if we can do something really special this season. Fingers crossed we can keep it going.

“I definitely believe and I hope everyone else does too.”

Ghana"s Emmanuel Dasor Breaks 400m Indoor Record

Ghanaian Sprinter, Emmanuel Dasor broke a 23-year old national 400m indoor record after running a personal best 46.21s to qualify for the 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships at the C- USA Indoor Track & Field Championships at Birmingham last Thursday.

Dasor’s new mark bested the old national record of 46.60s set by Solomon Amegatcher in 1993.

A student of the Western Kentucky University, Dasor won the Section 1 Finals at the meet ahead of Jurmarcus Shelvin, who run 47.60 and Carnell Horn, who came third in 48.21s.

This continues a stellar season for the Ghanaian who clocked started off his 2016 season by running the third fastest 60m time by Ghanaian male sprinter in 9 year after clocking 6.68s.

Last month, the U.S.A based athlete told liquidsportsghana that he will be running a lot more short sprints this season to improve his performances in his favourite 200m and 400m.

His hard work is paying off with his qualification to the IAAF World Indoors. In July2015, Emmanuel Dasor led the men’s 4x400m relay team to break a 23-year old national record in a time of 3:04.72 at the Warri Relays, Nigeria.

The new mark was an improvement over the 3:05.2 set on 13 June 1992 in Accra by the quartet of Henry Hagan, Timothy Hesse, S. Boateng and Solomon Amegatcher.

Alongside Daniel Gyasi, George Effah and Kwadwo Acheampong, Dasor run an inspired last leg as Ghana came from behind to beat Nigeria to first place.

Plead Your Case Pt 1 By Kenneth E. Hagin

Charles G. Finney said, “Argumentative prayers are the best kind of praying.” Of course, Finney would say that because he was a lawyer. Finney was very argumentative.

Looking at the 43rd chapter of Isaiah, we see something God says:

ISAIAH 43:25,26
25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.
26 Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.

That’s exactly what Luther did without even knowing it. He repeated all the promises of Scripture he could remember where God promised to answer prayer. He reminded God of them. “Put me in remembrance” God said; “let us plead together.” In other words, God is telling us to plead our case to Him! Verse 26 continues, “Declare thou, that thou mayest be justified ….” That’s from the King James translation. Another translation reads, “Set forth your cause that you might be justified.”

The reason we don’t get more results is because:

(1) We don’t turn our face to the wall and look to God and God alone;

(2) Our praying is not intense enough.

“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” God said to Hezekiah, “I have heard your prayer. I have seen your tears.” If we’re not careful, prayer can become just a form with us. And even while we’re praying, instead of turning our face to the wall, we’re still looking at the impossibility of the situation. We’re still trying to figure out how God can do it. Don’t you figure out how God can do it. Let Him do it.

I remember years ago when word came that my mother, who was only 68 years old at the time, was dying. I went to the Lord. I turned my face to the wall. I turned away from everything else. With great intensity, I began to call upon Him. Finally I said, “Now, Lord, You have promised us in your Word at least 70 or 80 years. That’s a minimum. You said in your Word, ‘I will satisfy you with long life.’ ” (If you’re not satisfied with 70 or 80 years, go on living beyond that.) I said, “You promised us that 70 or 80 would be a minimum, and Momma’s only 68. If she doesn’t get the minimum, I’ll never be satisfied. The longest day I live on this earth, I’m going to remind You of it. I don’t mean I’m going to turn my back on You, but I’ll never feel good toward You about it.” The Lord said to me immediately, just as plain as if He had been standing beside me—”All right. I’ll do whatever you say about it.”

I said, “Give her at least 80 years.” I knew she didn’t have enough faith to claim it on her own, but she lived to be 80. Just a few days after she passed her 80th birthday, she went home to be with the Lord. I think sometimes we’re too mealy-mouthed when it comes to seeking God. Jesus said something about this subject: “the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force” (Matt. 11:12). God’s the same God now He was then. He’s the same God King Hezekiah prayed to. He’s the same God Martin Luther prayed to. He hasn’t changed. He’s the God of the ages. He is the Ageless One. With Him there is no shadow of turning. Thank God for this hour in which you and I live. Think about it: We can read the Word of God. We can read history. We can see what God is doing today in this charismatic move.

One Word From God Can Change Your Family By Kenneth Copeland

Planting Hope in Our Kids

“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”

—Malachi 4:5-6

Have you thought about the amount and kinds of imagery our children are having implanted into them by the world today? They are getting it on television and everywhere else—slick, high-tech, high-cost images of death and despair. They can’t even walk up and down the streets today without having some kind of picture fed to them. But that’s changing. The time of “Rachel weeping for her children” (Jeremiah 31:15) is giving way to the time of hope: “…for thy work shall be rewarded…and they shall come again from the land of the enemy. And there is hope in thine end, saith the Lord, that thy children shall come again to their own border” (verses 16-17).

Head to Head With Hollywood

I’ve been in faith, praying and standing in expectancy for more than 20 years concerning revival among our children, and thank God, it’s here. In early 1992, an outpouring of the Holy Ghost began on children and young people in this nation, and around the world.

This ministry is throwing its entire weight, effort, faith and strength into ministry to children just the same as we do our calling to teach adults. To accomplish this calling will take a lot. God told me it would. He said His people have been trying to use 29-cent quarterlies to compete with the technology of Disney, 20th Century Fox, Warner Brothers, ABC, CBS and NBC.

Maybe you’ve heard people talking about Christian material and products for children say something like, “Well that’s good enough for kids.” If so, think about this: The devil will spend $50 million on some horror movie every chance he gets—just to get our kids. He has spent the last 40 years, in particular, doing everything he can to totally destroy our children.

Hope Implants

But the kids need something the movie and entertainment industries are not giving them. They need what I call “hope implants.” God implanted hope in Abraham by showing him the stars of the heavens to help him see how many children God was going to give him. Like Abraham, children need a vision of hope. Hope is the image inside our hearts for which faith becomes the substance. Right now this is so far removed from the thinking of the children of this generation, that they could never grasp it if God didn’t start it with a video or something powerfully graphic.

Children and young people of this day and time are totally immersed in imagery technology—high-tech sin, unbelief and ungodly material of every kind. Reading doesn’t impress them much. In the younger ones, almost not at all. They are all image-dependent. Even their games are TV images. With God’s power and wisdom, we can fill their hungry hearts and minds with images of God’s grace, love and glory.

Malachi 4:5-6 says, “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”

It is significant that these are the last two verses of the Old Covenant.

Dwarfs Coach Contemplates On Quitting

Head coach of Ebusua Dwarfs J.E. Sarpong has hinted that he will quit his job if his side fails to win against Hearts of Oak on Sunday.

Dwarfs have not won a single match in the two-week-old 2015/16 Ghana Premier League. The ‘abonbontoa’ boys surprisingly lost their first game at home by a lone goal against Dreams FC and lost by the same margin to New Edubiase at the Len Clay stadium last Friday.

According to the outspoken coach, he suspects a sabotage from certain quarters of the team, adding that he will not stay on to suffer that kind of humiliation.

I won’t even sit down for the team to humiliate me like this. How can a team that played so well and had the best striker and goal king, start to play like this? Two matches and nothing to show for it”, coach J.E. Sarpong mentioned.

“It’s either the players don’t want to play for me any longer or someone in the team is trying to sabotage my efforts as head coach of Dwarfs. I will not mince words and I know many people are listening, I will go home think about this defeat and see what step to take next”.

“But if the team doesn’t win in our next match, I will do the honorable thing and leave the Club. Everybody knows my pedigree, so why will I sit for this team to disgrace me”.

“The same thing happened in Chelsea and Mourinho was sacked because you could see that the players did not want to play for him.”

Breaking News: Wa Rockets FC Attacked By Armed Robbers On Their Way Home From Techiman.

Division One side Wa Rockets FC were attacked by armed robbers on their return from Techiman after their opening league match against Berlin FC.

The Wa based second tier side lost the match 1-0 to the Brong Ahafo based Berlin FC but were sadly attacked by a gang of robbers between Yipaala and Tuna in the northern region around 3:30 am on Monday.

Cash amounts, mobile phones and other accessories were seized from the travelling contingent after severe beatings by the armed robbers reportedly identified as Fulani.

Head coach of the side Joseph Kwabena Fosu and team Manager Salifu Oromah received severe beatings on their heads whiles goalie Iddrisu Sanguo and full back Mohammed Almeyaw had to be rushed to the nearby clinic after been released by the armed robbers.

Narrating his ordeal to sportscrusader on their arrival at Wa, Salifu Oruma recounted the pain and the mental trauma he and his traveling team underwent.

“On our way from the Berlin FC match this dawn, a team of armed robbers mostly fulani, attacked us around the Yipaala Tuna road.

We were made to lie on our back and lashed seriously whiles moneys and mobile phones were collected from the team.

My head coach JK Fosu is currently undertaking some treatment after been hit several times on his head”. Oromah told sportscrusader.

On the items collected, the physically traumatised Team Manager recounted several thousands of Ghana cedis collected from his players.

“I can remember some 1350 in one pocket but the rest which is more than the first amount has all been collected.

Players have their moneys collected whiles my head coach has been drained of several Ghana cedis.

“Our driver has been affected as well as we watched helplessly.” Oromah concluded.

Wa All Stars General Manager Warns Players Against Complacency

General Manager of Wa All Stars, Seth Panwum has warned his players not to get swollen headed after a good start to the season.

The ambitious administrator urged the players to stay grounded and maintain their hard work if they are to lay their hands on the domestic league trophy.

Wa All Stars added Aduana Stars to their casualties in the opening two matches of the season to maintain their place at the top of the log but their General Manager openly told the players to either maintain their high standards or forget about winning the league trophy.

The soft spoken Seth leaned on their team work as the hidden arsenal that has eluded them for a while and has called on the players to avoid any internal friction that will mar their season as they chase the club’s first ever league trophy.

“We are on top of the log because the players work for each other and has come to realize they can only achieve working as a unit.

“Everybody in the club understands the need for hard work and what it means for us to stay grounded and not get swollen headed because we are on top of the log.

“Going to the top of the log is not the problem but can we stay there? The players, coaches and everybody involved in the club must come on board as we chase our first ever league trophy since joining the premier league.” Seth Panwum told sports crusader exclusively.

Wa All Stars defied expectations with a big win at the dreaded Nana Agyemang Badu II park against Aduana Stars to add to their 3-0 massacre of Hasaacas at the Wa Park.

The Sports Crusader Lower Leagues Team of the Week is an initiative introduced by the fastest growing sports web portal in Ghana to demonstrate how Ghanaian players perform for their various clubs abroad.

To set the records straight, as we have always done, players are selected based on the following criteria:

1. The Coefficient of the league they play

2. The competition they are in (If they are not playing league matches)

3. Consistency.

4. The competition they face from other players playing for the same position.

5. The positions they play

6. The number of minutes played in the game, and

7. The contribution of the player to the success of the game.

Jonathan Opoku continued his monstrous scoring with his ninth goal of the campaign as VV Venlo draws ever closer to promotion to the Dutch Eredivese. The rampant forward came out victorious with VVV in a seven goal thriller in the Erste league to lead our lower league team of the week.

Opoku is joined upfront by Raymond Gyasi and the expelled Moses Odjier, who lost his composure at the 90th minute for Salintana in the Italina Serie A.

Testimony From a Former Porn Star

This is the story of Greg, former porn name ‘Randy Spears’

“I have a story. We all do. Mine is not only unique, but highly controversial to many. A rebel if you will, but certainly with a cause. I became so used to my lifestyle that it became ‘normal’ to me. In retrospect, it was anything but. I am Randy Spears. I am also Greg. Porn was my job, my life, my universe, and I was deeply immersed in it.

Let me make something perfectly clear from the beginning: I am a Christian. I have always been.

At the height of my career I was a Christian. I was raised that way and remained a Christian throughout my career. I just had one foot in and one foot out. The dedication to my faith and my Creator took a back seat to the lifestyle I wanted to live.

Let me make something else crystal clear: I do not hate porn people.

I do not look down on them in any way or judge the people that are in that business. Those people are my friends, and I love some of them dearly. How could I possibly judge anyone? That would make me the biggest of hypocrites and go against the very message in which I believe. I have never, and will never, “thump” anyone with the book that I firmly believe was God-inspired, protected through the ages, true, and which I carry under my arm to church every Sunday.

I don’t rain down fire and brimstone messages to the hapless sinners who don’t turn from their wicked ways. I have no soapbox or political agenda. It makes me weary to think of the energy I’d have to expend in such a conquest. I leave the saving to the one who saves: God.

I do however, carry a message

The message is simply this: there is a Creator.

This is way bigger than us. Incredibly, there is one who had no beginning, and has no end. He always was and is. An amazing entity Who loves us personally and wants a relationship with each of His created beings.

I have asked this God to change my life. To take away the pain I inflicted upon myself and others and to replace it all with truth, love, compassion, and a greater understanding of what this life stuff means. I ask the big questions and have the same questions everyone else does. The same questions we’ve all have asked since we were humans. I just asked God to show Himself to me if He was really real. I happened to have gotten an answer. A precise, clear, no-doubt-about-it answer.

Now, before you find me to be like the cuckoo bird coming out of the clock, I’m not saying I saw a burning bush or heard a booming voice like Charlton Heston from the movie The Ten Commandments. I heard God way more clearly than that! I felt His presence. Undeniable, unmistakable. The greatest love that I’ve ever felt. It washed over me with such power and force that all I could do was weep and thank Him for being real. His answer to me was, “I am real and I’m right here.”

Porn didn’t damage my life alone.

The bar or drug dealer didn’t destroy my life alone.

It was me and what I did with porn, alcohol, and drugs that caused me grief and damage.

In retrospect, porn wasn’t the best of choices for what I wanted to do with my life. It damaged the way I looked at women and became a money, fame, and ego trap. I used drugs and booze because I was in my own private hell and tried to numb the chaos. If I had it to do all over again, I would have held out to be a Hollywood actor and tried to live a totally different life. Perhaps a marine biologist, which was my dream since youth.

The bottom line is this: God is real.

He will reach down and show us mysteries and great blessings. We must have the desire to have him in our lives, however. What good are puppets that are made to love Him? It’s about free will. The problem is, we don’t want to be held accountable. If God’s real — and I believe He is — then there is accountability to the Creator. That’s just how it works. We are selfish and want to live the way we want. The good news is that we can live differently if we want. By God’s power, not our own. He went so far as to send Himself as a sacrifice. We owe a debt we cannot pay, so he paid a debt He did not owe.

Truth is its own defense. After all, there can only be one truth. I happen to believe that Jesus was exactly who he said he was. That truth can set you free. It did me.”

Tom Strand Satisfied With His Team Despite Loss

Head coach of Medeama SC, Tom Strand is satisfied with the performance of his team despite suffering a 2-0 loss against Accra Hearts of Oak at the Tarkwa and Aboaso Park on Sunday.

Medeama SC outplayed the Phobians but lost courtesy of Cosmos Dauda and Eric Kumi’s second half goals.

And the Swede is happy his team fought hard.

“First I must congratulate Hearts of Oak for the win, though we lost but I was happy with the performance of my boys. I think we played our best game in the season.

“We came into the game to win but football is full of uncertainties, we have to put the defeat behind us and concentrate our next league game and I’m sure we will come out good in that game,” he said after the game.

“At first I was disappointed but when I look at the whole situation and see it from a different perspective, I have to say that I’ve seen my play this good football for a very long time and it’s a new team,” the former Bechem United said after the game.

“It was actually fantastic to see the boys perform today so seriously. I’m really happy with the game.”

Medeama SC will travel to Kumasi on 6th March to face Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara sports stadium.

Ebusua Dwarfs Players Owed Over Year Salaries

The playing body of Ebusua Dwarfs are owed over year salaries, sports crusader can confirm.

Ebusua Dwarfs suffered two successive Ghana Premier league defeats against Dreams FC and New Edubiase at the Robert Mensah and Len Clay stadiums  respectively, and head coach J.E Sarpong questioned the commitment of the players.

He alleged that either the players are not working for him or there is a ‘problem somewhere’.

And sportscrusader checks has confirmed that there is no mutiny in camp, but the team is not motivated to give off their best due to delay of their salaries.

Players who were also signed in the off season, has not been given their signing on fees, and that, the source believes is affecting the performance of the team.

Management is however working to sort out part payments of salaries owed players and pay new signings the money due them before they penned their signatures on the dotted lines.

Ebusua Dwarfs will host Accra Hearts of Oak next weekend at the Robert Mensah and players night be paid before the team walks on to the pitch on Sunday against the Phobians.

Coach Sarpong Rips Into His Dwarfs Team

Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs head coach, J.E. Sarpong, has ripped into his players for playing shambolic football in the sides first two games after returning to the Ghana premier league.

Dwarfs, one of Ghana’s oldest football clubs has failed to even gain a point after losing at home by a lone goal to fellow newly promoted side, Dreams FC and recently against New Edubiase at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium.

Coach Sarpong with his vast experience in the local game after stints with Accra Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics has been critical of his team after just two games into the season and believes the side can only survive in the top flight of Ghana football only if they begin to gain maximum points else he might have to consider his future.

He said, “after guiding the side into the premier league and with the goal king of the GN Bank 2014/15 season still in our fold, it is mind boggling to have scored no goal in two games and has not made an impact in any of our games.”

“Haven lost at home we were looking forward to make amends in the away game and yes it was difficult to play away from home but at least a point would have been good. You can’t tell if the players were ready to play or something is happening somewhere,” he added.

Dwarfs next game is at the Robert Mensah stadium against the in-form Accra Hearts of Oak.

Olympic Boxing Is For Amateurs Only Not Professionals - Lennox Lewis

Former world heavyweight champion and Olympic gold medalist Lennox Lewis has described the plan of  adopting professional boxers into Olympic boxing as very absurd and ridiculous.

The 50 year-old made this assertions after the President of world boxing’s governing body AIBA Dr Ching-Kuo Wu, made a proposal to AIBA’s executive committee to abolish rules stopping any fighter with 15 or more paid bouts from competing at the Olympics. Wu believes it is “absolutely possible” to change the rules in time for August’s Rio Games.

“Olympic boxing is built for amateurs and is the highest achievement you can get, alongside being world amateur champion,” he told BBC sports week.

Lewis  also established the scenario where someone like Vladimir Klitschko [former world heavyweight champion], who won Olympic gold in Atlanta and has so much experience, could go up against a kid of 18 who has had just 10 fights, which  he doesn’t  think it is fair.

Agyin-Asare Will Be A Great Chancellor – Prez Mahama

President John Mahama has predicted Bishop Dr Charles Agyin-Asare will become “a great Chancellor” as he takes over as the head of the Perez University College.

The presiding Bishop of the Perez Chapel was sworn in as the Chancellor of the institution Saturday.

Speaking at the function, Pres. Mahama encouraged educational institutions to change curricular to reflect what businesses and industries need for economic growth.

The president urged a change from grammar-based curricular to a more practical, evidence-based one by universities to make them relevant to industries.

President Mahama stated that “in 2014 the ministry of education, employment and labour relations and the ministry of trade organized a joint stakeholders’ consultation on jobs and employment. Participants from business and industry who attended this stakeholders’ consultation were very clear.

“They said they did not want the old grammar school kind of graduate. The one who comes and speaks English like a machine gun but when you give him practical things to do he cannot perform. They wanted practical, skilled, hands-on, innovative graduates to employ. As a result of this new demand from business and industry most institutions in the world have changed their curricular to support more practical, evidence-based, entrepreneurial, innovative and problem solving skills.”

On his part, Bishop Dr. Agyin-Asare promised the institution will churn out problem-solving scholars.

“I strongly believe that very soon this university college will churn out graduates who will not be learning by rote, but will be problem solving and solution providing scholars who will bring significant change and transformation to their spheres of influence.

“Especially at this crucial time in the history of Africa where we are having endemic corruption and many visionless intellectuals and graduates from institutions who will rather stay at home than work if they have not been employed, where we have engineers who sit in the office and are not manufacturing, teachers who are still using books written in the 60s instead of writing new material. Where most of our people do not want to think outside the box to accomplish unprecedented feats. I am convinced that there must be a change and I am glad to announce to you that change is coming,” the Presiding Bishop of the Perez Chapel International, which owns the university told the gathering.

The Perez Chapel International acquired the Pan African Christian University College in November 2015.

The institution and its two schools are duly accredited by the National Accreditation Board of Ghana since 2007. The School of Theology has affiliation with the Trinity Theological Seminary (TTS) and the School of Business is affiliated to the University of Cape Coast. These mentor institutions have the responsibility for overseeing the courses, training and certification of the respective schools.

To ensure a commitment to academic excellence, Perez Chapel has put together a Board of Governors made up of distinguished and accomplished individuals to oversee the running of the University.

Board of directors

Members of the Board are: Dr Charles Agyin-Asare, Dr Mensa Otabil, Professor Omane-Antwi, Professor Asamoah Gyadu, Professor Addo Obeng, Dr Kotei Dzani, Mr. Francis Ashinyo, Honourable Sylvester Mensah, Dr Mrs Vivian Amoako, Dr Emmanuel Saboro, Professor Amoa Awua, Bishop Dr Prince Baah and Lawyer Mrs Grace Dolphy.

The University is now located at Gomoa Pomadze-Winneba, along the Winneba-Swedru highway, about a kilometer from Winneba roundabout (Junction). Despite its close proximity to Winneba of the Effutu Municipality, it administratively falls under the Gomoa East District Assembly. The plan is to add on other campuses in the coming years.

League Success Is Down To The Players - Coach Keni

Accra Hearts of Oak head coach, Kenichi Yatshuashi, has re-directed praises from himself to his players for the teams high-flying start to the 2015/16 Ghana premier league season.

Coach Kenichi Yatshuashi has guided the Phobians to two successive premier league victories over sides (New Edubiase and Medeama SC) that have ‘bullied’ the  20-times premier league champions recording enviable victories over Hearts in the last three years.

The Japanese-American tactician had been branded ‘incompetent’ upon his appointment months ago and when he lost back-to-back against Libyan side, Al-Ahli of Tripoli he head was called to be placed on the chopping board.

The board and management had supported  and tasked him to win the maiden GHALCA First Trust G6 tourney but he failed and the fans once again called for his dismissal but fast forward league commencement and the song tune has changed.

Kenichi after his sides two nil victory over Medeama SC labelled the players as the reason for the success and not him as the media keeps commenting on.

He said, “the payers are doing their job and the success and impressive start to the league has got nothing to do with me. I am not thinking about the next game but we’ll ensure the next game is better than this as we improve each game.”

Kenichi’s next game comes against Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs as the quest to reclaim the lost Phobian glory goes on.

Ghana Is A Nation Of Disappointments...But There Is Hope - Dr. Mensah Otabil

Known for his sharp comments as well as his excellent motivational messages, the Founder of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Dr. Mensa Otabil has stated that Ghana has become a country of disappointment.

Mensa Otabil made this comment at this year’s springboard national convocation in Accra. The motivational speaker, recently voted as Ghana’s most influential personality said  “For most people of my age, we have always had hope of greatness for our country, but unfortunately the older we get the more that hope gets dimmed.”

“When I was young I believed Ghana will be great, as I get older I pray Ghana will be great, I pray so because we keep disappointing ourselves.

“We disappoint ourselves. We have the great opportunities and we disappoint ourselves: we had gold we disappointed ourselves; we had cocoa we disappointed ourselves; we have oil, we are disappointing ourselves,” he observed.

Dr. Otabil, however, said all hope is not lost. “…There is hope for the future because there are young men and women who, hopefully will build a better life.”

“Your generation must determine that you will be different and to be different you must be different now. You have to determine: ‘I will not bow to pressure, I will not lie, I will not cheat, I will not steal…”

Indeed, there is hope for the future.

Prayer Does Not Come Automatically - Myles Munroe

February 29

For the next several days, we will study the model prayer that Jesus taught His disciples. Luke 11:1 says, “One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, ‘Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.’” The Scripture says, “One day Jesus was praying.” The disciples were present, but they were not involved. While Jesus prayed, they observed Him.

Whenever the Bible mentions Jesus praying, it tells specific things about His actions. For example: “After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone” (Matthew 14:23). “One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God” (Luke 6:12). “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed” (Mark 1:35). Christ never seemed to pray with the disciples. What was the reason for this? I believe He wanted them to ask Him about this most important aspect of His ministry, and He also wanted to teach them that prayer is a personal relationship and responsibility. Corporate prayer should never be a substitute for private time with the Father.

Next, the disciples said, “Lord, teach us to pray.” This implies that knowing how to pray is not automatic, or something they could do without His instruction. As young Jewish men, the disciples had been brought up in the synagogue, where they had been taught to pray. They daily read and repeated prayers in the synagogue. However, Jesus’ prayers differed from what they had been taught. They prayed; He prayed. They spoke words; He secured results.

Prayer:

Father, show me through Your Word all that You wanted the disciples to know about prayer. I want to pray as Christ did. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Thought: Prayer is a personal relationship and responsibility.

After the game the Swede was humble to concede defeat in praising his opponents superiority in all quarters of the game though his boys played one of their best games since he joined them.

Hearts Punished Us - Medeama

Head coach of Ghana premier league side, Medeama SC, Tom Strand has admitted his side were thought a lesson by Accra Hearts of Oak when the two sides met in the 2015/16 league game at the Tarkwa T&A park.

Hearts travelled to Tarkwa and made history recording their first ever victory over the mauve-and-yellow when goals from strikers, Cosmos Dauda and Eric Kumi ensured coach Keni and his boys leave the Western region with all three points.

Tom Strand’s side were bookmakers favourite to inflict defeat on the overly confident Phobians who have begun life under Japanese-American much to the astonishment of many including the club’s own fans but the head coach Medeama revealed in his post match interview Hearts took their chances unlike his young side.

He said, “we made mistakes just as everyone but they took advantage and punished us”.

Medeama have lost their first two games in the 2015/16 season and will have to start picking up points beginning with their next game.

Erradi Had Problem With All At The Club - Bechem United

Officials of Ghana Premier League club, Bechem United, have explained why the parted ways with their new coach Erradi Adil, just two weeks after engaging his services.

Bechem United parted ways with their Belgian coach, during the week and many were shocked to hear the news looking at the short time he has spent with the Club.

The 37-year-old former FC Brussels trainer was engaged to enhance the chances of the club in the premiership and also to develop young talents, but he fell out of favour with the club due to his hot temperament.

Inside sources mentioned that the coach was making outrageous demands and having problems with almost everybody, including the team manager of the club, Francis Dwomo Addai.

“He fights with the players all the time and had a problem with everybody, even the team manager who is a very quiet and respectable man, was not spared,” the source said.

The source said Adil was not satisfied with anything and his character was causing problems for the team which made the club to pay him off to return to his native country and to avoid creating any further problems.

CEO of the club, Kingsley Owusu Achau, confirmed the coach was no longer with them but refused to give details about the decision to sack the coach.

He said the local coaches, including Solomon Odowo, Osei Wire and others, were in charge of the club currently until a new manager is engaged.

My Team Led Me Down - J.E Sarpong

J.E Sarpong, head coach of Ebusua Dwarfs, has accused his players of not working for him and the team after suffering a successive premier league league defeat on Friday.

Having lost opening day Ghana Premier League fixture at home against Dreams FC, the Abontobontoa boys were piped 1-0 at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium against New Edubiase.

And the former Liberty Professionals coach reckon his team did little to earn a point because they were not ready to work for him.

“It is very disappointing, very disheartening. We entered the premiership with so much excitement, with the anticipation to stay aloft.

“But this is football; either there is something wrong somewhere or  the commitment of the players is not there or they are not ready to work for the team and the coach,” disappointed J.E Sarpong told the media after the game.

Dwarfs have about six players injured, but J.E Sarpong insist it is not an excuse to lose two game on the bounce.

“Yes we have about six players who are not in the team because they are sick and others for certain reasons, but that’s not an excuse.

“We registered 26 players for the season and I thought we could have done something better . It is very disheartening; I think I have been led down by my team. I must be very frank.” He noted.

Ebusua Dwarfs next outing in the premier league will be against high flying Accra Hearts of Oak next weekend.
