Ghana"s Fencing Team Begins Quest In Olympic Qualification

The national fencing team of Ghana yesterday left the shores of Ghana yesterday to partake in the 2016 Olympics Games qualifiers in Algeria which kicks starts from the 14 – 15 April 2016.







 


A five-member contingent including captain Alhassan Samba Abubakari, Affortu Hussein, Iddrisu Bashiru, Oppong Mensah Hemeng and coach Alhassan Abusafiyan have being tasked with the mantle of flying high the flag of Ghana during this two day event and grab a spot in the Rio Olympics.


 


Last Week the Minister of Youth and Sports Honorable Nii Lante Vanderpuye paid a courtesy visit to the team where he encouraged them and assured them of the support of his ministry and the entire nation.


 


Ghana has never qualified for the event in the history of the Olympics  and will be looking forward to make it debut appearances at this year Rio Olympics.
