Minister of Youth and Sports, Nii Lante Vanderpuye has reiterated his desire to clear the outstanding debt owed by his Ministry to the Black Queens of Ghana beforetheir participation in the 12th Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCN) in Cameroon later this year.
The Black Queens beat Tunisia to 6=1 on aggregate to qualify to the AWCN yseterday.
In a brief media interaction after the match Mr Vanderpuye said “we are trying all we can to pay their outstanding bonuses before they go to the championship, His Excellency John Mahama has taken over that mantle of negotiating payment with the Ministry of Finance.”
“The President of the country has assured the Ministry of Youth and Sports of adequate measure that will ensure the payment of outstanding bonuses of the Black Princess and Black Maidens as well,” the Honorable Minister concluded.
