Defeated Again: Bojan And Anautovic Goals Secure Stoke Defeat Manchester United

Manchester United Lose Again!

Louis van Gaal’s decision to leave Wayne Rooney on the bench did not materialise as Manchester United performance were deservedly beaten 2-0 by Stoke City. It was United’s fourth defeat in a row – the worst run since 1990 when Sir Alex Ferguson was fighting for his job.

Goals by Bojan and Marko Arnautovic gave the potters all the three points. A Memphis Depay, blunder set up the Potters opening goal with Bojan Krkic taking full advantage. The scoreline became 2-0 after 26 minutes. Bojan’s free-kick bounced out of the wall to Arnautovic who displayed outstanding technique to strike a shot past 25 yards that arced away from de Gea and into the corner.

All eyes will now be on whether Van Gaal survives until Monday’s game against Chelsea.

Certainly the United manager is running out of people to blame and it was maybe not a good sign for him that executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward wasn’t at the Britannia to support him.

In the end, the decisively better team were Stoke and that will worry everyone from the Glazer family to the Stretford End more than anything. We will now see if they feel forced into a change before the home game against Chelsea on Monday.
