First Ghanaian Para- Athlete Participation Confirmed In Rio

Para Power lifter Charles Narh Teye has become the first Ghanaian para athlete to qualify for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, the National Paralympic Committee has confirmed.


 


Narh, who competed at the London 2012 Paralympic Games, will be making his second appearance at the Games.


 


In an interview with General Secretary of the Ghana Paralympic Committee Mr. Elletey Ignatius told sportscrusader.com that “the final slot allocation was confirmed by the International Paralympic Committee (IOC) yesterday and am very happy for Narh who is making his second appearance at the games a Paralympic games”.


 


Another Ghanaian para cyclist Alem Mumuni will also receive his confirmation at the Rio Paralympics next month as the athlete is in poll position for qualification for the mega sporting event in September.
